Four leathery shark eggs began a long trip from an aquarium in Chicago to a marine park in Raja Ampat. Inside each egg, called a mermaid's purse, a baby zebra shark was slowly growing. The team wants to help this rare shark return to the warm coral waters where very few were left.

On this day, Hawaii joined the United States as the fiftieth state. It is a chain of islands far out in the Pacific Ocean, with beaches, palm trees and tall green mountains. Because it was the fiftieth star, a brand new flag was made with fifty little stars, one for each state. It is still the flag flown today.
